The Netherlands is investing in better intercity cycling routes, but progress is never uniform. The F58 from Breda to Tilburg shows both the ambition and the unfinished links. I rode the entire 23.5 km and traced the remaining works — new post with details and video.

A 340-metre-long cycling bridge with a name to match its curves — Anaconda in Lelystad turns 20. I went to see how this striking structure, and its smaller neighbour, have aged in the Netherlands’ youngest province. New video and blog post now online.

October Rides Month concludes with a ride across ’s-Hertogenbosch — from the city centre to its northern edge without a single traffic light. A new mini-roundabout sparked local debate but, in my view, it’s an improvement.
My latest October Rides post & video follow the return trip from Houten to Utrecht — shorter than the outbound via Nieuwegein. Not part of a numbered cycle route, yet a fine example of excellent “ordinary” Dutch cycling infrastructure.

New Post/Video: A Ride from Leiden to The Hague along the Via 44. A continuous-cycle route running parallel to the N44 — now over ten years old. Smooth red asphalt and open countryside make for a pleasant ride, though the proximity to traffic and lack of signage remain noticeable.
