81 years ago today, a nuclear bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Three days later, Nagasaki was bombed.

The bombings led to the mass slaughter of innocent civilians.

We must do everything to rid the world of these weapons of indiscriminate mass destruction.🕊️

been making a single-page app with pocketbase.io/ this week and it's been a nice experience. I like making single-page JS apps with a Go backend API and this means that I don't have to write the Go backend.

Really impressive project given that it's built by one person in their spare time.

Supporting Right to Repair is important, but so is looking fresh. You can do both thanks to the newest additions to our merch lineup. Come grab a shirt (or three) at our booth at DEF CON this weekend!

In February 1204, the Japanese court poet Fujiwara no Teika recorded in his diary that a terrifying "red vapor" and glowing red light filled the night sky over Kyoto for three consecutive nights.

Eight centuries later, scientists analyzed carbon-14 spikes in ancient tree rings and confirmed he had witnessed a massive, historic solar storm.

The red skies were a severe, low-latitude aurora borealis triggered by powerful coronal mass ejections. A solar storm of that magnitude today would have fried every satellite, GPS system, and global power grid on Earth.

I appreciate the attention detail even though this project optimizes the height in the exact opposite dimension that I like. Not for me, but I'm all out for a ton more stuff like this. *

* I tried to leave it alone but have to say the alignment on the left modifiers seems like a rare oversight/cut corner.

RE: front-end.social/@leaverou/117

I … disagree.

In short, I don’t believe that forcing a site into your current mode gets to be dependent on the time of the day.

The two-state approach in the post has this problem when the OS is set to auto-change from light to dark based on the time of the day.

The very first website is 35 years old today, and you can still visit it at info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/The!

"On August 6, 1991, the first website was introduced to the world. [It] contained information about the World Wide Web Project. It launched at the European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN, where it was created by British computer scientist @timbl."

Happy birthday, web!

The next version of MCP has a rewritten, stateless core that just works on Workers. We cover upgrades to the protocol, the new feature lifecycle and SDK migration path, and hear from early adopters already running it in production. blog.cloudflare.com/mcp-v2/

We are introducing WebMCP. You can now expose Model Context Protocol endpoints directly to AI agents from client-side web applications using Cloudflare Workers. Read the launch post: blog.cloudflare.com/webmcp/

Agents are a new kind of visitor. They don't render CSS or click ads, but they have a paying human on the other end. Block them and you block your customer. We're building the open tools and protocols so publishers and agents can cooperate and not collide. blog.cloudflare.com/the-agenti
